At Queen’s Park Govanhill, we believe that prayer plays a vital role in our lives as followers of Jesus. In the closing words of his first letter to the Church in Thessalonica (Greek: Θεσσαλονίκη ‘Thessaloniki‘), St Paul writes, ‘Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.’ Whilst we can hope to ‘pray without ceasing’ throughout each day, we also have special prayer meetings set aside throughout the week at 170 Queen’s Drive, to which all are welcome.
|Sunday morning prayer||
We meet at 10.15am in the Craig Chapel before the morning service. During this time, we pray for the service and for the leaders of the service, specifically, that our time of worship would glorify God and that the Holy Spirit would be present.
|Wednesday evening prayer||
We meet at 7pm in the Craig Chapel. We begin with a Bible reading and we pray for each other, for other members of our congregation and our community, as well as for our City of Glasgow, for the Church of Scotland, for all other denominations, for our nation of Scotland, and all others around the world. We also spend time thanking God for our many blessings.
